Mavericks on late 2011 Macbook Pro 17

HI, I have a late 2011 macbook pro 17" running Mountain Lion and I'm thinking of upgrading to Mavericks. Will it make my mac running slower than now or will it have any negative effect on the battery life? Can I go back to Mountain Lion once Mavericks is installed?

I'm running Mavericks on a 2009 Mac Mini (with 8gb) and it runs fine. I think if you have sufficient ram, you'll not notice any degradation in performance.

It will breath new life into your 2011 machine. I have a 13" MBP from Early 2011 and it flies with Mavericks.

I have a 2009 17",it's faster don't know about battery life yet.
