After weeks of messing with Mavericks on my MBP, OSX 10.9 is, for the most part, running smoothly, save for a few spinning beach balls.
There are a few lessons I learned along the way:
1. resetting SMC and them multiple resets of PRAM make most of the issues of instability go away on my MBP.
2. I rarely shutdown the computer but rather, put it in sleep mode.
3. If I do a shut down and have issues restarting, I disconnect all external drives and my external monitor, then go through my SMC/PRAM resets ritual and the computer restarts.
4. I backup my computer with SuperDuper regularly, but that is not because of 10.9.
THE BIG LESSON LEARNED: I WILL NOT BE AN EARLY ADOPTER OF 10.9.1 OR 2 OR 3. I'll let some poor other guy/gal complete the beta test for Apple. Waiting one or two months after a release is a good policy.
