I have a 4TB Seagate Central and under Mountain Lion with my MacBook Air, it ran like a dream. I have all my iTunes library on the drive (85 GB of music, 200 GB+ of movies).

Now since upgrade to Mavericks its virtually unaccessible. The connection "hangs" every 5 to 10 secs, so any music playback is useless. Video is not even an option. iTunes is unusable.

I've accessed the Seagate Central via my Samsung Smart TV and it works super fast, plus when I access it via the Seagate Media app its fine too. So clearly there is some network issue with Mavericks. I sometimes get "Network Connection Lost" alerts too.
