Mavericks Question

So my boyfriend is running OS X Lion on his MBP, I was curious to find out if he would just be able to update to Mavericks or if he would have to update his Mac to OS X and then to Mavericks.

I have a 2013 MBA so I won't have to worry about this hehe

You can go straight from Lion to Mavericks as long as the machine is supported by Mavericks. Here is a list.
