Hello!

I recently installed Mavericks server on my old '08 iMac and connected two external HDDs to it to create a central location for backup of all my macs. Everything works, in the sense that my macbooks recognize the drives and I can transfer data between them. However, the time machine backups are slow! When I had these externals connected to my Airport Extreme, I was averaging around 9-10 Mbps up and down while transferring data/backing up.Now when I have these same drives connected to the iMac running server 3.0..... I'm lucky to see backup speeds hit 4Mbps. What am I doing wrong? Is the iMac too old to run this well?

I'm not sure what is going on, have you tries transferring data with the finder to see if the bottleneck is the network setup?
I have 10.9 server running on a 2009 mini and also using time machine and the throughput is fine.
