Why is it that Apple just cannot get iCloud working right?

It should be simple. Documents and Data should be your documents and data.
Period. It is not! It is only iWork's data. Seriously?

MS Skydrive is now the default for Windows 8.1 and I believe that Apple should get that.

Also your Messages do not sync across machines. How hard is it to sync?

Every time I set up a new profile I have to copy my /Library/Messages folder over or it just starts blank.

Simple concepts that I think would improve Mavericks.

Not gonna lie Apple's been pretty terrible with syncing across devices and machines.

Also iCloud is part of the 'Apple walled garden', I don't think there are plans at least at this point in time to expand iCloud beyond Apple stuff.

If you want mobile document syncing you're much better off using one of the many cross platform syncing services (dropbox, skydrive, google documents, etc).
