Hey everyone,

I have a new MacBook and it simply will not work properly with Virgin Media's Superhub 2. All my other devices work - except this macbook . . .ridiculous load times, and time outs.

I'm therefore going to put it in modem mode - and connect it to an Airport Express . . .but with Virgin i'm on 200mb broadband and am worried that by not using their modem I will not get the 200mb on all my other devices?

Is an AirPort Extreme compatible with faster speeds?

I'm also going to send ethernet from the Airport express to some home plugs so create a fake wired connection elsewhere in the house.

Thanks for any help!!

The AirPort Express has a 10/100 Mbps WAN port. The highest theoretical speed you will see is 100 Mbps, however with overhead that will likely be closer to 90 Mbps. The Extreme is fully Gigabit (WAN & LAN) and also has wireless AC. You can usually get the Extreme for $129 from Apple refurbished.
