So today I was tinkering with my late 2013 15' rMBP. Checking if everything was working OK, etc. It came the time to check for the fans, I used the old "yes > /dev/null &" to stress the CPU and rise temperature and see if the machines behaves within tolerable limits. Everything fine, but as the temps went up and the fans as well...the right fan hit a max speed near 5700, while the left one keep revving up until 6200.

At first I think it was wrong, so I reset the SMC and then the NVRAM. Fresh start, repeat and still got the same max speeds. Then I checked if the hardware was wrong, so I use the Diagnostics Tool (pressing D at startup), and everything turn out to be fine.

So...the max speed of the fans is unequal. At least on my rMBP. The odd thing is that I have a 750m, I could understand such a measure for an integrated only graphic solution, but with this 750m generating copious amount of heat, I expected them to be of the same max speed.

Was it only me? I know for sure I'm not. I search in the forum and it turns out there are some comments regarding this behavior, but it was not the topic of the thread, just a comment.

Hahaha :D maybe I'm an idiot and this is old news, but I for sure wasn't expecting this.
