Max Memory question

in the tech specs on the Mac websites says my 2012 MBP 13 2.9GHz i7, max memory is 8gb.

crucial scan tool tells me i can add 16gb

i am reading the others have 16gb in their MBP.

Can mine hold 16gb?

Yes.
2011 and 2012 MBPs can use 16 GB RAM with two 8 GB 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM modules.
