OS X Max Payne 3 gets stuck on startup screen

So... Seems like Max Payne 3 stopped working... again.
Struggling to get this game running. I have the crappy HD3000 but that has never prevented me from running the game, until now. I'm running Yosemite and the game freezes on Social Club login.
This is a fresh install of Yosemite.

For me it has been like this on every launch. Believe me, I've tried launching this game the whole night.

Magic key to login to Social Club

I've been stuck like this before - the normally displayed prompt to bring up the Social Club login page doesn't show up on screen, so leaves the game locked until you do what it wants (which is not visible). By memory, you need to press the key that equates to [Home] on the PC version. I think it's '[', but could be something else. Once successfully logged back in, you shouldn't have the same issue.

It's the \ key and it didn't work (well, I could get it to show up only on the first time, but it froze since then).
