max ram in mac book pro cd?

I just want to know if what's the max amount of ram I could put into my mac book pro. It's the first version core duo right before they reached core to duo.

Then I want to know would it be possible to update my mac book pro to core 2 duo..?

From memory (and I might be wrong): You can put 2 x 2GB RAM in there, but only 3.3GB will be accessible to the system, so you probably be better off with a 2GB + 1GB configuration...
