Max resolution of old MacBook?

I am shopping around for an external monitor for my brother's old white MacBook but I'm not sure how I can find out what the maximum resolution it can output to is.

The current MacBooks can output 1920x1080 on an external from the sources I've found online, but I'm not sure about the older white MacBooks with fully integrated graphics.

All MacBooks can do 1080p, new or old.

http://support.apple.com/kb/SP5 That's a full spec list of the old macbook it says that it supports up to 1920 by 1200. hope that helps
