Yes. There is no real world limit on the storage your Mac can handle, except what you can physically fit in it.Is it possible to install a 2tb drive in the top bay and an SSD in the loswer bay of a mac mini 2012?
Yes. The max capacity as of right now would be 4TB with 2x2TB 2.5" hard drives.
I've done a few Mac Minis here at the office with HDD and SSD setups. I've got a 1TB HDD in one bay with a 256GB SSD in the second for apps and high speed scratch space. Works great.
You could put a 2TB HDD in and a 1TB SSD if you wanted too. There's no real limit other than what's out at the time.
thanks for the reply...i'm torn on installing 2 x 2TB drives assuming two 9.5mm thick drives would fit or just installing 1tb ssd and 2TB hdd with a fusion setup...
1Tb SSD + 2Tb HDD is the way to go. Those 2TB HDD are fine for storage, but in this day and age SSD for boot drive is like a no brainer. So just max SSD size that you can affford - if you can afford the 1TB, dont hesitate to use that as boot drive.thanks for the reply...i'm torn on installing 2 x 2TB drives assuming two 9.5mm thick drives would fit or just installing 1tb ssd and 2TB hdd with a fusion setup...
