Knowing that there are still a number of G4 Cube lovers here, I thought the following may be of interest and generate some fedback.
Checking through some ads on a local site here, my attention was drawn to:
G4 Cube with a Sonnet Encore ST 1.8GHz processor, and upgraded video card, 1.5 RAM, 120GB HDD, original Harman Kardon speakers, Cube G4 power supply, and 23" ADC. The price: 500euros (602US$).
These are pretty rare in this config (I have a 1.2 version and even those are rarely offered these days), so was wondering how this price compares with similar offers elsewhere around the world.
Another rarely offered PPC is the standard G4 450MHz Cube complete in original box with all accessories, + unboxed 15" ADC. Observed one recently, offered at 450euros (540US$).
Would appreciate hearing the views of others around the world. Even those owners with the same Cube specifications.

From what I've seen on ebay that is a good price. Recently, some bare Cube upgrade CPUs sold for that much.

For the Cube you describe, I would check it out in person if it's local to you. Those upgrades probably have the VRM at its limit, unless the VRM has also been upgraded.

The boxed one is definitely for collectors. Personally, I would choose the upgraded one given similar prices.

I have upgraded my Cube with some parts (7455 CPU, RAM, GPU, Wifi and Bluetooth) and trying to find the correct or compatible one's it's time consuming but if you really like the machine + have money that price you should think that's fair. Unfortunately the prices of any PowerPC and anything remotely "vintage" or "retro" skyrocket enought to me stop buying unless I really want. But good luck anyways

I think both prices are fair. In case of the second one, I would make sure the numbers are matching. Otherwise I'd try to get a few bucks off. And of course, the overall condition should meet a collectors standard.
But anyways, as these machines get more and more sought after, you can't go wrong with neither the "all-original" nor the "maxed-out", as I bet both will end up scoring four figures in the near future.
