Hi I'm a sound engineer and was just wondering if anyone had any advice here..

I am trying to decide between a black Macbook 2.16 with maxed RAM + HDD,
or a Macbook Pro 2.2 15'' standard.

The Macbook still works out slightly cheaper in price here in South Africa, was just wondering if anyone had the same choice to make.

The sales guy recommended the Macbook Pro, but to me the specs seem almost too close to be able to notice a difference.

Unless you are going to be performing a lot of 3-D/photgraphy related things, you should get the Macbook (when you buy it, DO NOT buy 4GB from Apple, just replace it yourself- saves you around $500 doing this)

But if I were you, I'd get the 15inch Macbook Pro since the video card is much much better. I hope that you can make the right decision~

Yeah thanks, that's what i figured re the graphics card.

I did own a Mac Pro before but sold it looking for a portable solution while i'm on the road. The Kingston ram is way way cheaper for sure.

I like the black of the Macbook, but prefer the bigger Macbook Pro screen.

Ideally a 15'' Black Macbook Pro..still waiting :)

Haha yeap, seen that black macbook pro before in this forum :p

And don't sweat it, just buy what you need as it is after all, your own computer.

With best wishes
