Does anyone experience choppy 4K video playback? As soon as I start playing 4K content, the fans kick in at full speed and the video gets chopping and sometimes audio stops and starts.

I have to say, I am not impressed. A $5,000 AUD computer and it can't even play 4K videos smoothly?!

Is the file streamed or stored locally and what player are you using. I just tested a 38GB 4k HDR file streamed wirelessly to my 2017 MacBook Pro 15 from my Nas using QuickTime player and it was fine.

Streamed locally using QuickTime player. Does it sound like there is an issue with mine?

Strange to be honest. What are the properties of the 4K video you are watching?

I have tested out reviewing a 60GB 4K video of an entire wedding and did not experience any choppiness streamed from our company NAS drive.

Too many factors in play to be honest. Also, what 15 inch are you using?

Did you test the video on another device to rule out the video being the issue?

Yet for the fan to come on, it sounds like something else is running at the same time hogging resources.
