Hello,

I have an airport extreme base station. I also have a desktop windows pc that just barely picks it up, even though it is about ten yards fromt he base station. there is a wooden wall and a window inbetween the two, how do i maximize my reception?

i can't really move either the base station or the desktop pc....

the airport extreme is currently vertical, with the top faceing towards the desktop.... does the extreme have better reception horizontal to it's ground plane?

thanks,'

oh,

it's an old extreme. the one that is like a hershey kiss.

still horizontal?

Well...I can't find any decent pics of the inside of the old one....from the pics I've seen, it looks like the antenna is mounted in an arc roughly corresponding to the curve of the top...so I still think horizontal would be better. Try it out and see if it helps. It's definitely the cheapest solution.
