I would like to purchase a 2018 15" Pro and hook up several Monitors.

Tentatively, I would like to hook up 4 4K Monitor, each to one TB3 port. This is under the specification and I believe it is fine.

If I want to hook up to more than 4, apart from using an eGPU, what option is available (like those USB displaylink, etc)? What could be the maximum monitors possible?

If eGPU is needed, is there any maximum number of eGPU I can use? (limit 1? 2? or as many as TB3 can chain?)

Apart from port/wiring limitation, do macOS have software limitation on how many screen I can use?

Thank you.

I was under the impression you can daisy-chain the displays together but I don’t know about the limitations on how many the laptop will run. The 2017 models could only run 2 4K monitors and it doesn’t look like this has changed but an eGPU may allow more but I can’t be certain.

I see
I saw in the 2018 spec page 13" can do only 2 in 4k or 1 in 5k, but 15" can do 4 in 4k OR 2 in 5k
