Just bought a new macbook pro and I'm buying a couple thunderbolt displays to complement it (so I will have a macbook + tb display 1 + tb display 2). I was going to do 3 monitors like I'm used to, but with the way Mavericks handles multiple displays, I don't think I'll need a 3rd monitor.
However, I am very new to the mac world (15+ year Windows user), so I'm not extremely familiar on how to maximize my productivity. I bought the external trackpad, and really like it, but it's a bit slow when I'm trying to do more precision type things - I need a mouse for that. However, when I switch to a mouse, I lose awesome gestures. I know the magic mouse fixes this, but I really do not like it, and can't get used to it, so it's really not an option for me.
I saw logitech made something like this: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/ultrathin-touch-mouse-t631 , but haven't been able to find many reviews on it. Plus it seems pretty small, so very little real estate for doing gestures. Plus I've got big hands.
Someone at the office suggested using a mouse for the right hand, trackpad for the left hand, which I have not tried yet. I'm horribly non-coordinated with my left hand so I'm not sure how that would work out.
Anything obvious I'm missing? Interested to hear what you guys do for maximum productivity.
Thanks
