What do people think we be the maximum ssd storage on the new mbp? I’m hoping for 8tb but not sure if it will be 2tb like the current 13” models. Thoughts?

Can’t even hazard a guess. However less than 48 hours will know for sure. No guessing needed

My guess is they will offer up to 1TB of RAM for buyers hoping to "future proof" their Macs. SSDs will offer up to 4 PetaBytes. It will be pricey though. I could be wrong. Nevertheless, we'll find out on Monday.

Yeah, but expensive is right. That'd be what, a bazillion dollars?

Nah. Just $3.5 Trillion. But using the latest government accounting methods it will actually cost zero dollars.

512 really should be the bare minimum across the Pro line now. When upgraded from Early 2015, I definitely chose 512 over the default 256. I struggled with that so much on my old one. Its nice to have the breathing room to do more and not worry. But the weird issue is, VMs are what used up a lot of space. The M1 prevents that because there are no officially sanctioned VMs from Microsoft. I dabble with Linux and open source, but not really my thing. Right now, I am down to 273 GBs on the M1 and I really want to know what's really eating up so much space.
