Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini on G4/1.67 with OSX 10.5.8

On my G4 PowerBook (1.00 Ghz) with

OSX 10.4.11

I can mount my

Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini (320 GB / 2 Partions [93GB/205GB] Mac OS Extended Journaled) without any problem, also the Maxtor Manager (Version 5.2.7) runs perfect.

The problem...

If I try to connect the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini to my G4 PowerBook (1.67 Ghz) with

OSX 10.5.8

the external harddrive will not mounted, and the external harddrive start to "pipe, piep, piep..."

How can help and can tell me what to do.
