Do apps running in the background, i.e. if I open safari then double tap to 'multitasking' and go to messages, still use data? Essentially, do apps in the 'multitasking' screen use data?

I would not believe so. I think it is more in keeping the ram for the app availiable. However, pandora for example would still use data in the multitask way

With that said....I am glad I still have the unlimited plan so I never have to worry about this lol

Will the real slim shady please stand up:D

Haha I thought the same thing initially!

That's actually your fast app switcher, not multitasking. The OS does a "save state" for apps that have been upgraded for iOS4 and it will consume some memory. I haven't tried to figure out how much, so I'm not sure how much.

That's exactly what I figured. Speaking of Pandora, I was playing it and this Eminem song came up so I figured I might as well use it as a title. It is fitting :p
