Alias offers a Personal Learning Edition of Maya. (PLE) This version is designed for students and professional whom are trying to learn the software. The PLE version adds a water mark to all your renderings otherwise it is the same as a full licensed version. Also, Maya is on version 7 now so you will most likely not be able to obtain a version 6 due to having to register through Alias's website for use of the PLE version.

Read your post a second time... just realized you said you HAD installed it on a PC so the answer is yes but I am not sure if the same number will work or not.
