Maybe iPhone 5C is a distraction?

Is anyone else shocked at how many leaked images there are of this new plastic budget iPhone 5C? It seems very un-Apple for us to have seen this much this early of the new phone.

It gets me thinking.... would it be possible that it is a distraction? What if Apple is really working on a mind blowing new iPhone 6 that will actually come out this year and to satisfy the rumor blogs they are purposefully leaking these images of plastic iPhones? It's possible the plastic iPhone is actually a real product coming out, but Apple thinks if they leak info about it nobody will pay attention to the amazing 5" premium iPhone 6 they are building. It makes sense, a 4" entry-level iPhone and a 5" premium iPhone.

Maybe it's just me hoping but it gets me thinking...
 
I really don't think it is intended as a complete distraction. I think the leaks are the leaks and the 5S will mimic the design of the 5. Historically, the 3S and 3 are the same externally, 4 and 4S, etc.
 
Im not really getting my hopes up, I fully expect to see a iPhone 5s that looks identical to the 5 with some beefed up internals. However, a little bit of me thinks it about time for Apple to shake it up and do something unexpected.
 
You do realise that Apple has 2-3 months left to present the new 5S right? They should start manufacturing 5S by next month or so already, so there is no room for any major redesign. This year is already a year of MBA Haswell (that battery life), iOS 7 and Mac Pro, with MBP Haswell and iPad 5 coming soon. Apple has done a good job so far. Save the "wow factor" for iPhone next year :).
 
There have always been leaks for the iOS devices, granted none as revealing as the 5C, but with Apples growing popularity and the potential for innovation, people are trying harder and harder to crack Apple's secrecy. With Apple's supply chain now well known, potential employees might seek a job there for the sole reason of revealing the latest and greatest. While I can see apple creating fake departments to throw off the rumor mills, I dont see them purposely exposing one product to hide another. But who knows? The iWatch might even be a codename for their iTV just to throw us off a bit
 
See, this is what I'm talking about though. They have become so predictable that even the Apple fans will say they absolutely will not come out with a redesigned phone this early, it will be next year when the 6 comes out.

That tells me, it's the perfect time to shake it up. Nobody is expecting it and on top of that they have this new iPhone 5C they don't really care if people see early and can leak info and pics to satisfy rumors. Everyone goes on believing that the other iPhone coming is inevitably the iPhone 5s.

Once again, it's just a hunch, not getting my hopes up, but maybe wishing for a surprise from Apple for a change.
 
People always seem to forget about the leaks that happen every year. Last year we knew everything about the iPhone 5 months before the official presentation (remember how everyone reacted to the two tone design), just like this year about the 5S and 5C.

Maybe I'm wrong but it just seems there is so much more on the iPhone 5C. Everything from clear pictures of every color to comparison pics with iPhone 5 to just this morning a Pegatron employee talking about making the plastic protector for the new low-cost plastic iPhone.

Yeah, because we didn't know anything about the iPhone 4, 4s, or 5 before they were unveiled :rolleyes:

It's definitely you just hoping. Your way of thinking sounds like when the shy guy is at the party who dreams about the hot girl but when he says hi she throws a drink in his face while her boyfriends arm is draped around her and the guy starts being delusional and saying to himself "she's probably just playing hard to get, there must be a real good chance that she likes me" :p

The only part of the iPhone 5C we've seen is the shell and the packaging.

We've seen the whole 5S already.
