my macbook late 08 - snow leopard:
problem:accidentally deleted disk access priviledges for "staff" and "everyone"

what happens:
it boots into a blue screen with no login options
safe mode, single user, boot from cd will not work

is there any rescue mode for this?

thanks.

Can you get the HD out and put it in another Mac or an enclosure to work with it on another Mac.

If so, you should be able to re-install snow on it using the other Mac and then put it back in the MB. Problem solved.

I currently do not have another mac.

Can windows or linux recognize the drive to extract the data?
