Here
Ok so I was on craigslist and saw this post. It doesnt have the specs listed but I emailed him about it. Once I get them, ill post it. Is it too good to be true?

It's 900$ from refurb store. Hmm, it's little bit too cheap but not too much. Could be just "stupid" seller that doesn't know it's real value or wants to get rid of it fast. I would run for that

Call him rather then email, but the ad said MBP 13 inch was purchased in April. It wasn't released until June..

He said Backlit keyboard so it is 2.4GHz. Most likely 2gb ram. I would buy it.

the title says Macbook pro, and his warranty ends in June but was purchased in April?...

GREAT! Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. Once I get an email back I will make an offer. Thanks guys. This will be my first :apple:mac! :D:D:D:D

Haha. Well I got off the phone and I got the specs. It has 2.4ghz processor,
2gb of ddr2 or whatever. 160gb hard drive, 13.3" LED screen. :D
He said he had a $550 offer and he wont go any lower. But it comes with a printer which i could sell to level out the cost. Hopefully I will get it :D:D:D

The Alu has DDR3

Even if it is the lower-end one, it's still a fine deal. Remember, the amount of time you spend wrestling every nickle and dime out of a computer deal is worth something as well.

that seems like a great deal. i sold mine for $700 on ebay with the same specs. i felt gypped..but i needed money.

Yeah, well I noticed it wasn't too far from me and I bought it! I figured I needed a backup MBP.

Kidding :D that would be cold. If I were you I'd call him, ask to meet him in a public place and if he seems honest and the computer runs good buy it!! :apple:

Haha. I would be really mad if you did that! And yes we will meet publicly. How do you get the about mac thing? The popup showing the specs.
Thanks

I stay away from any computer related on Craigslist but......

Make sure you fully test the computer before you hand over your money. Bring an optical disk with you and run it. Open a couple programs and see how they run. Test the speakers, etc. Do not accept a "I forgot to charge it, I promise it works" excuse.

Good luck!

Click on the apple logo on the upper left portion of the screen and scroll down to 'about this mac'. It may be a good idea to print up a quick bill of sale with a blank space for the serial number and take it with you.

Nice deal.
