My MacBook wouldn't boot and the screen with the blinking folder with a question mark appeared. So then I booted off the "Mac OS X Install Disc 1". However, when it asks me to "select a destination volume to install the Mac OS X software", I can't select my hard drive. There are no options for me to select. What does that mean? Is the HD broken?

. After much messing it did turn out to be the HD! I had to upgrade to my current iMac. You could try a genius?? Hope you have more luck than me..
