MB, MBA, MBP

are ALL about the same cost for the same size for similar form factor

What is the point of having these 3 lines being so closely speced? How do you justify a mb over the new mba and then how do you justify the new mba over the 13in mbp?

The mbp is even skinner than the mba if you look at total thickness

Apple is creating a confusing scenario here

What are your thoughts ?

Definitely too much overlap at this point. As you say you've got four (incl. the original Air still on sale!) computers all very close in price and with only about 5% difference in features to choose between. They need to spread into some materially different offers. If they're sticking with the Air, then how about dropping the nTB Pro and trying a 15" MacBook for something a bit different?

I feel like a big part of the new Air's raison d'être is because the nTB Pro hasn't caught on with Air buyers like Apple wanted it to. And if that's the case I don't see the Air faithful being any more taken by the new offering as frankly it's more or less the same thing for more or less the same money (give or take a bit of power, Touch ID, screen and battery life).
