Hello there!

Im using my MB Pro 5,1 to run Parallels on which I have installed Windows 7 SP 1. Im using windows mainly to run Visual Studio and its components which are quite demanding. Currently I have 4GB or RAM in my laptop, out of which, 1GB is allocated to the virtual machine. The results is that most of the times Windows 7 is slowing down significantly. I always wanted to avoid partitioning my HDD to install Windows on it, but I know that this will allow me to get most out of it.

My question is regarding RAM, is it worth(and physically possible because different sources state different) to upgrade my MB to 8GB of ram? Will it really improve Windows 7 performance?

The other question is that maybe the better approach is to make a partition and have Windows as part of the HDD?

One last thing Im wondering about is the HDD, how about replacing the drive with SSD, will it improve the computer performance in means of running the virtual machine?

Find memory activity screenshot in the attachment taken while running Parallels.

I appreciate any suggestions :)
