Hi all.

So I was using my MacBook Pro (2011) and running a bunch of apps that were eating up my ram, namely Chrome.

I went to sleep it but the computer is still running but with a blacked out screen. The fan is still running as well and at a high speed. No response from clicking the mouse, keyboard, command-alt-escape keys, etc. This has happened before and I have manually rebooted it by holding down the start button, but I don't want to compromise what I have up this time around.

So I have thought about just letting the battery drain and then having it restore to what I was working on before. Any other ideas??

Thanks

Try opening and closing the lid a few times. The magnets in the lid that trigger your comp to sleep/wake might bring it back. Worth a shot.
