Sorry, it's another of these "which shall I get"
I'm trying to replace my 3 year old pBook G4 because I cannot deal with a sluggish HD video editing anymore
Most importantly, the budget: Somewhere around $2000 or below but I can go a little higher if necessary.

It should be easy choice (iMac) but I travel a lot.
I do not work while on the move but I get to be in LA 4 to 5 months a year and the rest in NYC.

The quality of video editing is not nearly close to anything serious. Just friends and family stuff. But last time I did editing for an hour worth of movie in 1080i, it took 9 hours to process on all 4 sizes using a Blackbook.

If I'm getting a MB it would be the top of the line with 250gb disk ($1700) and for MBP it would be the base with 250gb disk upgrade ($2001)

My understanding is that the $300 difference gives me only a bigger display.
It also adds a dedicated video card but I don't have any real use for it, do I?

So my real question would be, how much of a difference is there between a 2.2ghz blackbook and a 2.2ghz mbp in terms of real life usage of

But also, I'm wondering how much of an issue it would be to carry around an iMac from coast to coast about 4 times a year. I know there's a backpack specifically made for carrying an iMac. But I'm not sure whether it would be considered carry-ons on an airplane. If it's not that big of a deal, getting an iMac would be by farthest the best choice.

Thanks in advance.
