MBA 13(2018) or MBP 13(2017).. Memorial day sale!!

hi Guys,

BestBuy has MBA 2018 for 949 and MBP 2017 for 999.

Which one to go for ? MBP has 2nd gen Butterfly keyboard which wont be upgraded if given in for repair. MBA 2018(3rd gen Butterfly) qualifies for that.. Let me know your thoughts on that.

However I like the better processor and screen on MBP than MBA.. But do you feel really MBA is that slow compared to MBP. Their single core Geekbench scrore lies at difference of around 400-500.

Of the two, I'd take the Air. If the T2 is made stable it provides some performance advantages, which I suspect are not accounted for in Geekbench (I could be wrong) and you also benefit from being able to have the KB replaced with the updated Gen 3.

The 2017 Pro doesn't have the T2, which is a point in its favour right now, but the keyboard is not something I'd be too keen to gamble on. Though it does have the four year replacement all the same.

I have never had a problem with the keyboard of my MBP 13 2010.. Its been 9 years ehh
