I was having some issues with my 13" built to order machine and ended up dropping it off at a retail outlet on Sunday for an exchange.

To my knowledge, the way this exchange is going to be dealt with because my machine is built to order, is that it needs to be shipped all the way back to China, confirmed, and then they can proceed to shipping out a replacement model, is this accurate?

It's Wednesday now but on the apple.com/support, my "repair" status is still listed as Status not Available. I'm not sure if this is typical to see.


Has anyone done a similar return/exchange? How long did it take to receive your replacement?
