Hi guys,

I have a 22" monitor at home with a max resolution of 1650 * 1200. It has either HDMI or DVI-D input. I'm just wondering if it is possible to connect my new 2012 MBA 13" to it and achieve that full resolution? And if so, which adapter (HDMI OR DVI-D) should i get?

Cheers, much appreciated.

From the Apple site: Apple - MacBook Air - Compare the 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air.
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors

Either one.
Thunderbolt digital video output
  • Native Mini DisplayPort output
  • DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter (sold separately)
  • VGA output using Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (sold separately)
  • Dual-link DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter (sold separately)
  • HDMI audio and video output using third-party Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (sold separately)

Thanks Mate. I knew it was capable of driving that many pixels, I just wanted to make sure it could do that through an adaptor. Please excuse my ignorance ;), first time using anything other than an iMac.
Yes, the adapter won't affect the capability.
