I am interested in the stock 13" MBA - 1.86GHz 13" MacBook Air 128GB with 2 GB of RAM.

It costs $1099 on apples online store and $1189 on MacConnection Store.
1. What's a refurbished unit? Is it still new?
2. Are there any additional taxes, shipping costs?
3. Which one do you recommend?

Thank you in advance

1. http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/apple_certified.html

2. Depends on which state you live in. If you live in California, you might as well spend $50.00 more and buy a brand new one off Amazon.com.

3. Depends on your needs.

wow amazon is $1050 :)
is there additional tax for that? DC area - someone will buy it for me, I'm from europe.

depends on you needs.. 2gb is sufficient if you don't do anything especial on it or if you don't plan to keep it for 1 year or so. otherwise, take the 4gb

I'd take 4gb ram anyway. :D

Most of these are just open box returns and there is nothing wrong with them. But because they have been returned they have to go through the refurbished process. I've bought plenty of them and they've always looked new and you get full warranty.

Just got a refurbed 13" MBA from apple store online and it is pristine. If you use a discover card you can get an additional 5% off.
