Hello guys,

I have just examined the tech specification of one MBA early 2014 and in the list I found something like "minimum and maximum windows".
Does it mean it is possible to install windows 7 or windows 10 on this machine?
What about drivers, did anyone do this before?

Thank you!

Yes, why not? Window runs on all Intel based PC's. The MBA is an Intel based PC.

As far as I know you can install Windows 10 (64 bit) on this MBA in 2 ways:
- Boot: That means you have to use 'Bootcamp assistant' (software provided by Apple). After Windows is installed via Bootcamp you can boot the MBA in Windows or in MacOS. Both will run natively on the MBA. Windows drivers are provided with Bootcamp (by Apple) and since Windows runs natively on the Mac you just can update the Windows drivers as usual from within Windows.
- Virtualization: This means you install a 'Virtual Machine' in MacOS and then you install Windows in this virtual machine. Then you can run Windows from within MacOS.

Both methods have advantages and disadvantages, but one could write a whole book about that.

And yes, lots of people have done this before (installing Windows on a Mac). There are complete sites dedicated to this subject. Also if you search in threads on this forum you will find tons of information.

It goes too far to explain it all in this thread. I am no expert either, but be assured: thousands (maybe millions??) of people have done this already ;)

Here a link to the official Apple site about this subject:

Edit:
Actually (for completeness sake) there is a third way also and that is: erasing MacOS completely from the MBA and install Windows natively on this machine. After that you have a full Windows laptop without MacOS. I assume that is not what you want, but that can be done also.
