Hi,

I make the purchasing recommendations for laptops for the company I work for. Currently designers get 16" MBPs with good specs. Everyone else — those who work in Office, keynote and the browser — gets a choice of a 14" or 16" MBP with more entry-level specs. I offer the 14" because many of those people travel for work, and value lightness and portability.

With that in mind I would love to switch over to making the 15" MBA the default choice for all those people. On paper it looks like a great balance between adequate screen size and a small footprint. I have no concerns about processing power from this laptop.

Only one question — in the pursuit of thinness, has Apple made any compromises on chassis durability? Is there any more "flex" to the body, is the screen area any more fragile, than on the MBP?

Anybody have an observation?

Thanks!

Screen assembly seems pretty sturdy.
The rest of the case tho is more flexible if you apply intentional pressure to keyboard deck, bottom cover or pick up your laptop by either single front corner. 13.6 was worse than 14.2 and 15.3 is a bit worse, but not by much than 13.6.
