Hi,

I have a battery problem which I have lived with for a while but it now starting to annoy me. I have researched online a bit, posted on apple but still no joy.

I changed the battery from the original just over a year ago when I stopped using the Air. The old battery had reached 50% capacity and only lasted about an hour, except for when I put it to sleep it just used to drain down to zero. I purchased a new battery, and it was then saying I have 3:30 hours left of use, but again when I put it to sleep for longer than an hour it just used to drain dramatically. After this, I gave up and just used it occasionally on power.

Last month, I decided I was going to use it again and try and fix this battery issue. The battery is showing 5800/5800 mAh capacity left. Last night I left the laptop with 100% charge and put it to sleep. Went to use it about 15 mins ago and it was dead - wouldn't start. When I plugged the power in and it woke up from hibernation, the battery was at 0%.

I have turned of Wake for network access as most forum posts suggest. Furthermore, at times when I am not using the Air (analysing the Console) this line seems to appear:
Code:
13/12/2013 00:15:04.453 WindowServer[115]: CGXDisplayDidWakeNotification [403995244523]: posting kCGSDisplayDidWake
followed by
Code:
13/12/2013 00:15:04.454 WindowServer[115]: handle_will_sleep_auth_and_shield_windows: Deferring.

If anyone could advise me on a way to see what is causing the battery to drain, that would be much appreciated.

I have also attempted to run the AHT, but since I don't have the original install disks for this Mac (lost them ages ago) it won't run and I can't get an appointment at my local genius bar for another week and a bit.

Many Thanks in advance,

Jayden
