I have a 2010 256GB ssd currently in my 2011 MBA. I'm thinking about getting the 2012 MBA. I read somewhere that the new ssd's are faster.

I plan to order the 11" with a 128GB ssd, and switch it with my 256GB ssd, then sell on my 2011 MBA.

So, will the 128GB 2012 work in the 2011, and will the 256GB 2010 work in the 2012?!

I assume theoretically everything should work, just wondered if the 'speed increase' I read about was likely to be noticed in real world use, and whether I'd lose anything on using the 2012 ssd in the new air?

No it will not work. It worked before but the 2012 uses a different connector so you cannot make the switch this time.

Wait, I thought SSD is soldered on the mobo in the MBA?? Either way, the new ones are different models and are faster.

OK, thanks for the replies, looks like I'll have to shell out the extra then.
