I have a 2011 MBA with Win7 64-bit installed and would love to connect it to my 27" monitor. I bought these cheap Thunderbolt > HDMI cables but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Granted, I'm aware it might be due to the cheapness of the cables but I wanted to try them out before shelling out the full price if the latter proved necessary.

I've plugged in my MBA and my monitor and then switched input but it's giving me nothing but 'no signal'. On the MBA side, I'm looking through the Intel Graphics & Media Control Panel and it doesn't have any other displays listed. Is it a problem with the cable or are there other steps I need to be undertaking?

Cheers

I'm not sure what happened but now it's working perfectly, even after I disconnect (contra what the Apple FAQ says). Maybe all it needed was a restart? Anyways, yay for not spending $30 on the cable.
