Not sure where to post this exactly.
I own a macbook air 13" 2012, and an iphone 5. this memorial day weekend, i went out of town and attended fanime 2014. just got home, excited to upload the videos and photos that i took with my iphone 5, and start editing the video clips together.

normally, when i plug in my iphone 5 to the macbook air using the lightning-usb cable, my macbook air will recognize my iphone 5, usually i'll be able to see it under Finder>devices, and also if i launch iphoto, i'll be able to import the photos and vids. but for some reason it does not recognize it at all. i updated to the latest itunes. my mba is version 10.8.5.
i tried restarting my computer with no luck.
i tried doing the search to no avail in finding an answer, but i'll keep looking through search.

i'll try a different lightning cable to see if that will work. i'll even try to restart my iphone, i'll let you folks know if there's any progress.

so i tried a different lightning cable, and it worked. problem solved.
