Hey
looking for secondary laptop for traveling. i founded two laptop that fits my budget: 2013\8\256 and 2014\4\128 MBA.
what do you think?
which configuration is better?

8/256. The 2014 is just a slight clock speed bump (and only on the i5) over the 2013. You'll notice the benefits of double the RAM a lot more than you will an extra 100MHz.
Thanks for the detailed info.

Couldn't have put it better myself, though there's the added benefit of a 256GB SSD vs. a 128GB as well! And either will happily run newer versions of macOS using the OpenCore Legacy Patcher should the OP wish to go that route.

what processor in is each? Either way, the 8gb is most likely the better bet. My worry would be battery health at 10 years old

Coming from someone who still uses their 2013 11" MBA 4Gb/256 Gb SSD, defo get the machine w/ 8Gb RAM as the 4Gb RAM is the most limiting aspect.
I still enjoy the screen, keyboard, weight and form factor, my battery is still 80% health (and I upgraded the SSD w/ an OEM takeout years ago)...its just the 4Gb RAM that has me wishing Apple still made something similar in form factor!

I am a 2015 MBA in China it is easy to upgrade the memory RAM and ssd

I have upgraded 16G RAM and third party nvme ssd model sn550 1T

The original factory configured battery, only this i7 5650U heat is very large
