Hi

MacBook Air 6,1 Airport card stopped working after High Sierra installation and now the OSX drop down menu says: no hardware installed. I did try to reset SMC and PRAM but no luck. Also installed the OSX with Command+R but that didn't work neither.

Any ideas how to solve this?
Is the USB dongle best (cheap) way to go? Couldn't find any airport cards on sale...

EDIT: Also ran the Apple hardware test and got the CNW001 code.

TP-Link ac450 was the easiest solution for me. Only 17€ and the wi-fi is working again.

The exact same thing happened to me. I took it to the Apple Store where they insisted it was a hardware problem, even though it occurred right after the computer was upgraded to HS. What's more they tried to charge me £160 to fix it.

Instead, I bought a used WiFi card off eBay for £5 and it been working fine ever since.

Unscrew the bottom case, disconnect the battery, swap the card then do the same in reverse. Takes about 10mins. Here are instructions if you want to free up your port again : https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Air+13-Inch+Mid+2013+AirPort-Bluetooth+Card+Replacement/15179
