I just upgraded from a mid-2011 MBA to the new 13" MBA, w/ 8GB of ram. Used Time Machine to to do the switch over and that was a breeze.
All is going well, except when attempting to connect to some wifi networks I get a "Connection timeout" error. The new MBA has connected flawlessly to 5-6 known networks from the past - but I don't know what to expect in the future.
Looking for solutions that would help me avoid this issue - before posting, please see below for what I have done to try to correct this.

One problematic wifi router (Netgear WGT264) is connected to both my iPhone, iPad, HP printer and a MBP w/o a problem. Router is using WPA protected. (note, earlier in the day I connected to another Netgear router w/o a problem)
I removed and trashed the System Config folder, did a restart, no change.
Reset DNS lease, tried DNS setting of 8.8.8.8
SMC reset - no change
Fortunately I have access to this router, so performed a factory reset, tried connecting to the generic router w/o a p/w - similar issue - could not be joined - “try moving closer to your wireless router”, and I am literally 3 feet away.
Changed the wifi transmitting channel 2x, and transmitting only on the “g” channel, tried using WPA2 - none of these actions worked.
Power cycled the DSL modem - no change
Through all the router changes, all the other devices were able to reconnect (didn’t try them on the generic config for obvious reason).

My largest concern, since I travel on biz and need connectivity, is when and where this will happen again - it appears to be unpredictable and I have no idea if it is related to new hardware or firmware.
Constructive input is welcome!
