Hi - I have a new MBA 13" (2014 version) and am planning on installing Parallels with Windows 7 to run some trading applications that are Windows only. My question is whether there is any performance benefit to installing the Professional version of W7 vs the Home Premium version? Any assistance is greatly appreciated - I have searched extensively for any information on this!

No, none. The benefits of Pro are mainly business related. You can join network domains, host remote desktop, enable file encryption, backup to network drives, access more RAM and location aware printing. Basically MS makes you spend a lot more for very little.
