Hello there,

The 2015 MBA was quite good with the fan management where the fan didn't kick in all too often.

What about the 2018 iteration? Any fan problems? Whizzing, buzzing sounds? Unnecessary spin ups? Fan noise?

Is the 2018 fan noisier than the 2015 one?

I'd comment on the fan noise on the 2018, but I don't know what it even sounds like because I've never heard it. Nomatter what I've done. Whether it be watching Netflix or browsing heavy webpages or editing, I haven't heard it spin up even once

The only time I've heard the fans so far was when setting the machine up initially and doing all the multiple app installations whilst Dropbox was synching for the first time. Its been silent since then.

It's noticeable if you really tax it, you'll surely hear the fan when the processor approaches 89-90C, that's when it will kick on. You'd have to be doing some really CPU intensive stuff to get it to going though.

I've only heard it during initial set-up and macOS updates. The machine is silent until it needs to cool itself; as it's designed to do, of course.
