MBA 2020 Intel is freezing with zoom?

I was on a zoom meeting today and only had zoom and MS Word open and I honestly missed so many things in the meeting for notes because MBA was freezing and running at 100 degrees. A laptop at this price surely shouldn't have this issue? Makes me want to just get M1.

Has anyone had this issue?

Came from an early 2020 MBA to an M1 MBA. Zoom barely makes the computer break a sweat with the M1. Cold bottom, smooth performance and even have youtube runninon the side. On my prior 2020 MBA, zoom pushed it to its limit and it would heat up.

Do like me, sell your MBA and take a loss and buy a M1 MBA and consider the loss as if you purchased a better a couple hundred dollar more laptop that is not going to annoy you. The intel resale value is only going to get worse as the market floods.

Sucks we are the unlucky ones.

Completely agree. If you use an MBA regularly and can afford to upgrade the M1 variants are well worth it, even versus an MBA from earlier this year. I think the joy you'll get from the M1 will offset the sting of the loss you'll take on the Intel model 👍
