I just got a 2nd gen 13" Macbook Air. According to spec it should be able to drive 2560x1600 pixels on external monitor.

Would I be able to drive Dell U3011 30" monitor, which also supports 2560x1600 by just using a miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort converter?

I am trying to avoid using Apple's Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter cause it has terrible reviews.

Anybody running MBA+U3011? How's the setup working out for you?

If the monitor has DisplayPort, then all you need is mDP to DP adapter and it should work.
It does:

2 High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
2 Digital Visual Interface connectors (DVI-D) with HDCP
1 DisplayPort (DP)
1 Video Graphics Array (VGA)

But I'd like to be 100% sure. I read about all these people having to use Dual DVI converter. Any MBA+U3011 users?
