MBA and Dell U2913WM Monitor

Hi all, need some feedback from y'all. I'm in the new market for a new monitor. I work with a lot of word documents (side by side comparison, notes, etc). I like my current Samsung SynMaster FX2490HD but just feel like upgrading.

Given that the Dell is such a beast, can the graphics card on the MBA (currently own a 2011 MBA) handle that source?

I like the Mac TBD but it's a bit pricey and I've never been fond of the glossy screen.

The Dell 2913WM isn't actually super high resolution. It's 2560x1080, while the Apple TBD and Dell 27" ultrasharp are both 2560x1440, so you actually lose pixels on the 29" model.

If you specifically want the physically larger screen or wider aspect ratio then the 29" should work just fine, if not then I think you'd be better off with a 27" display:

Thanks for the heads up. I'll take a more in-depth look into that model. So the question still remains, as the graphics card on the MBA can handle only 1440x900 resolution, is this monitor overkill or will it be even able to handle it?

I haven't personally done it but I think a lot of people here have been using 2011 Macbook Airs with 27" 2560x1440 displays just fine.

I looked up the Apple tech specs page from back when they were selling the 2011 models and it says the following:

Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors
