Hello MacRumors users,
I currently have this problem, where I have a white ghost in (what seems to be) the apple logo permanently burnt into the screen. It's the most visible when I have a white background. Which in my case as a college student is often since I primarily work with Pages a lot during classes.
Anyways, I made a reservation for this friday at the Genius bar @ Applestore Amsterdam, but I want to know what my options are.
I have AppleCare and I am still within my first year after purchase.
I have a MacBook Air 2012 model with 8 Gigs of Ram and the US style keyboard. And here comes the problem... that keyboard nor the 8 gigs of Ram are standerd configurations here in Holland.
So the Apple Store obviously (atleast, that's what I think) doesn't have the same model in stock in their little warehouse.
The problem I have, is that I need the Mac for my study for atleast another 4 weeks... So I can't go without it.
So my question is;
- Can they repair the display quickly instore? (I assume they need to built in a new one...)
And if not, what should I do?
- Try to get a deal on a higher end machine (preferable, 13inch rMPB with addiotional money from my side).
- Let me keep the machine I currently have, let them send a new one to my home adress and send the old one back?
- ??? (you as a Macrumors member fill this one in).
Please give me some advice on this,
Thanks in advance,
Dutchmen
